General Iguana Information
Ask any iguana owner; they'll tell you that iguana's can be one of the best pets.
Yes, they are reptiles, but if you think they are like snakes that don't know the difference between you and their next meal, that is a misconception. Actually iguanas know people very well. They have even been known to remember people they haven't seen in a long time. (Especially people they don't like, or someone who has abused them) I've found them to be quite loveable and they get very attached to their owners. Iguana's can be trained and are often quite comical. I sometimes wonder just how my iguana gets into some places he does. Like on certain high windowsills.
Come back to this site to see the latest information as I post it. It is also a good idea to read some books on iguana care.
Thinking of getting an iguana? There is a lot to consider before you make your decision. Iguana's can grow rather large (4-6 feet), and may live for 20 years of more. There are three important areas in iguana care that must be adhered to.
Variance in any of these areas will certainly affect you lizard's health and could lead to death. I can't stress the importance of this enough. Complying with these stringencies will make for a happy, healthy iguana. Actually, you can form a "system" and the work can be quick and easy.
